Henk 2025

Henk does many things differently, in a way that is not obvious to everyone. He lives, as he puts it himself, minimalistically and does not need much to be happy. The choices Henk makes lead people to judge him differently from who he really is.

At first I knew little about my neighbour too, yet I had already formed an unfair image of him. That only became clear to me when, after several years of little contact, I started to photograph him. That encounter changed my view of him, after which I visited him more often to take pictures – and now and then just for a beer.
